Moving your business: Tips for a smooth office relocation

We have recently completed a number of office moves and one in particular was for the National Autistic Society. Take a look at the video below to see how we roll:

Here’s some tips for relocating your office either in Bristol, Bath or the Southwest.

So, you’re moving your office to a new location. As you can imagine, there will be plenty of things to think about and plan for to ensure the move goes smoothly. Here are a few tips to help you out:

1. Place an order with the removal company right away

You’ll need someone to help you remove everything in your office. This isn’t something that you can do on your own. As such, you’ll need to place an order with the removal company as soon as possible to give them enough time to plan and prepare for the big day.

2. Notify your clients and suppliers about the move

Your clients and suppliers need to be aware of your upcoming move. This way, they can update their records and ensure they know how to get in touch with you after the move. Unfortunately, you’d be surprised how many people don’t bother to notify their clients and suppliers about an upcoming move – don’t make this mistake!

3. Make a list of everything that needs to be moved

You need to know exactly what needs to be moved from your old office to your new one. Writing up a list will make it easier for you to plan and coordinate the move. Furthermore, it’ll also help the removal company to know what they need to move.

4. Get rid of everything that you don’t need

Now is the perfect time to downsize and eliminate anything you don’t need in your office. This includes old furniture, outdated equipment, and other items taking up space. Not only will this make a move more manageable, but it’ll also help you to save on storage costs.

Sometimes offices tend to become recycling bins for outdated electronics, old paper documents, and other things that people hang onto “just in case.” This is your chance to get rid of that stuff once and for all!

5. Pack everything up properly

You must ensure everything is packed up properly before the removal company arrives. This includes labelling all the boxes, so you know what’s inside them. Furthermore, you should also ensure that your delicate items are packed securely to avoid any damage during the move.

6. Hire some professional cleaners

You’ll want to leave your old office in the best possible condition. This means hiring some professional cleaners to give it a thorough clean before you hand over the keys. The last thing you want is for your old office to be a mess when the new tenants move in.

7. Set up your new office space

Once everything has been moved into your new office, it’s time to set it up. This includes putting together furniture, unpacking boxes, and hanging up pictures. Make sure you take time to do this so that everything is perfect before you start working in your new space.

8. Make sure that your IT systems are up and running

If you have any IT system in your office, you must ensure it’s up and running before you start working. This includes your computers, printers, and any other type of technology that you use daily.

9. Have a grand opening for your new office

Once everything is up and running, it’s time to celebrate! Have a grand opening for your new office and invite all of your clients and suppliers. This is a great way to show off your new space and thank everyone for their support during the move.

We hope that these tips have been helpful as you plan for your upcoming office move. Just remember to take your time and plan everything out in advance. With some planning, you can ensure the whole process goes smoothly.
