What Happens During an In-Person Survey

Jay visits your property and walks through every room with you, noting the volume of belongings, checking access points, and discussing any special requirements. Once your move is booked, your dedicated Move Manager takes over to coordinate everything on the day.

This isn't a sales visit. There's no presentation, no laminated brochures, no "if you sign today" offers. It's a straightforward assessment to make sure your quote is accurate and your move goes smoothly.

Is the home survey really free? +
Yes, completely free with no obligation. Whether you choose the video self-survey or an in-person visit, there's no charge. We believe you deserve an accurate quote before making any commitments.
How long does a video self-survey take? +
Most people complete their walkthrough video in 5–10 minutes. A typical 2–3 bedroom home takes around 7 minutes. You don't need to narrate everything — just mention items that may be difficult to see or need explanation. Walk slowly and let the camera capture each room.
How long does an in-person survey take? +
Usually 20 to 30 minutes for a standard home. Larger properties or complex moves may take a little longer. Your Move Manager will also use this time to answer any questions you have about the moving process.
What if I forget to show something in my video? +
If you realise you've missed something, just get in touch and we can update your quote. We also create an itemised list of everything we've seen, which we can share with you to check nothing's been left out. If we notice any gaps on our side, we'll ask for clarification. It's important to show everything — missed items can mean not enough van space and additional costs on the day.
Do I have to be home for an in-person survey? +
Ideally yes, because you're the best person to tell us what's being moved and what's staying. However, a family member or friend who knows the details can stand in if needed.
Can I do a video call instead? +
Absolutely. If you'd prefer a live video call on WhatsApp (07565 772430) or FaceTime, we can walk through your home together in real time. Just let us know when you book and we'll arrange it.
How quickly will I receive my quote after the survey? +
For video self-surveys, we aim to return your quote within a few hours during business days. For in-person surveys, we aim to have your written quote back to you within 48 hours.
What happens after I receive my quote? +
We'll usually follow up with a friendly call a few days to a week after you've received your quote, just to check if you have any questions. When you're ready to book, a 30% deposit secures your date and you'll be introduced to your dedicated Move Manager.
